Reddit Community Intelligence and Reddit Insights: Research Before You Write an Ad

Reddit Community Intelligence is the layer that turns 20 years of Reddit conversations into data that ad tools can use. It powers Reddit Insights, a research tool that shows what people say about brands and topics, and it feeds targeting, Max and shopping ads. Here's what it is, who can use Reddit Insights, and how to do the same research yourself.
This post is part of our Reddit ads roadmap. Dates are estimates and can shift.
What is Reddit Community Intelligence?
Reddit introduced Community Intelligence at Cannes Lions in June 2025. It reads what people post, comment and search on Reddit, and turns that into signals. Reddit's newer ad tools are built on it: research in Reddit Insights, audience and community suggestions, Max campaigns, and choosing which products to show in shopping ads.

What does Reddit Insights do?
Reddit Insights is a research tool built on Community Intelligence. It shows what people say about brands, products and topics, with short summaries and links to the original threads, so you can see real questions and complaints before you write an ad. It launched in alpha in 2025 and access is limited for now. More features, including better agency access, are expected late 2026 through 2027.

What are conversation summary add-ons?
A related ad feature shows real redditor posts under your ad as social proof. Reddit reported a 19% higher click-through rate in early tests. It works best when people already say good things about you, which is one more reason to keep comments on and reply.
How do you do this research without Reddit Insights?
Search Reddit for your category, brand and competitors, and sort by top posts from the past year.
Write down the questions and complaints that come up again and again, in people's own words.
Note which communities those threads come from. That's your targeting list. Check which ones you can target with our free subreddit finder.
Turn the top problems into headlines, and test them.
