Reddit Ads Roadmap 2026–2027: Every New Feature, Explained Simply

Updated: 4 days ago
Reddit is adding a lot to its ads over the next year: ads in Reddit search, AI help with targeting and creative, new video goals, better measurement and easier ways to work with an agency. This Reddit ads roadmap lists every change we know about, in plain words: what it does, whether you can use it yet, and what it means for your ads.
As a Reddit managed agency partner, we hear about changes early. Everything here is in our own words. Dates are estimates, and Reddit can move them.
How do you read this Reddit ads roadmap?
Each change has one of three labels:
Live: you can use it now, or it's rolling out to everyone.
In testing: some advertisers have it as an alpha or beta (contact your sales reps).
On the roadmap: Reddit is working on it. The timing is a rough guide, not a promise.
What powers Reddit's new ad tools?
Most changes below run on one thing: Reddit Community Intelligence. It turns what people post, comment and search on Reddit into data that ad tools can use, for research, for targeting and for choosing which products to show. Reddit introduced it at Cannes Lions in June 2025, and it's live.

What it means for you: Reddit's tools are getting better at reading conversations, so ads that match what people really talk about will have an easier time. Research the communities first, then write the ad, as we explain in Context Beats Demographics: Reddit's Ideal Community Persona.
What's new in Reddit shopping ads?
Shopping is where Reddit moves fastest. These changes are for brands with a product catalog:
Dynamic Product Ads (live): Reddit builds ads from your store's catalog, so you don't design one ad per product. The Shopify connection is live, and Reddit is testing badges for products redditors already rate well.
Collection Ads (live): one big lifestyle image on top and your products in a row below it, in one swipeable ad.
Sale badges (in testing): when a product in your catalog is on sale, Reddit adds the discount to the ad by itself.
Product ads inside "what should I buy?" threads (in testing, wider rollout expected in 2027): Reddit matches products from different brands to the thread someone is reading and shows them together. Reddit calls these Shopping Listing Ads.
Sharper product sets (live, more coming around Q4 2026 through 2027): filters let you pick exactly which products each campaign shows. One shopping campaign across several countries is expected next.

What it means for you: if you sell from a catalog, start with Dynamic Product Ads and keep a normal image ad running next to them, so you can compare. Keep your catalog prices correct, because sale badges read them. Setup steps are in Reddit Dynamic Product Ads + Shopify: 2026 Setup Guide.

Are ads coming to Reddit search?
Probably. On Reddit's July 2026 earnings call, its leaders said they're "starting to look towards ads" in Reddit search. People often search Reddit when they're close to buying. Nothing is announced yet. Early tests are expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027, and that can shift.

What it means for you: in our view, search on Reddit will work a bit like a keyword on Google, except the results are real threads. Brands that people already discuss on Reddit, with a catalog Reddit can read, will be ready first.

What's changing in Reddit Max campaigns?
Max is Reddit's automated campaign type. You give it a goal and your ads, and it handles bids, budget and placements. Max opened to all advertisers in September 2026. What's new:
Asset groups (live): one Max campaign can run several products or angles, each with its own copy, images and landing page.
AI ad versions (in beta, wider rollout expected in 2027): Max suggests extra headlines and images for different audience groups. Reddit calls this Tailored Creative.
Max carousels (testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): Max would pick a carousel by itself when it thinks one will beat a single image.
Max for video views (expected in 2027): the same hands-off setup for video view campaigns.

What it means for you: Reddit says Max cut costs by 17% in its tests. In our own test, pushing a Max budget up 2.2x hurt revenue first, before efficiency recovered. Run Max next to a manual campaign and judge it on sales. More in Reddit Max Campaigns in 2026: How They Work and When to Use Them.
What's new in Reddit targeting?
Targeting is moving toward Reddit's AI. Here's what's changing:
In-market audiences (in beta, wider access expected in 2027): reach people Reddit sees actively researching a purchase, not just people interested in a topic. It starts with business categories like business AI and cybersecurity.
"Describe your audience" (early testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): you write who your customer is in plain words, and Reddit's AI suggests communities, interests and keywords.
Smarter automated targeting for brand campaigns (automated targeting is live, brand upgrades expected around Q4 2026–2027): Reddit picks who sees your awareness and video ads.
Age targeting for every advertiser (expected in 2027).

What it means for you: in our test, letting Reddit expand targeting on its own doubled reach but cut revenue by 40%. New AI targeting may do better, but keep a hand-picked community ad group as your control. More in Reddit Ads Targeting Explained.

How is Reddit bidding changing?
Bidding is getting closer to what advertisers actually want: real views, bigger orders and less repetition.
15-second video views (public beta, full launch expected around Q1–Q2 2027): you only pay when someone watches 15 seconds or more, or the whole video if it's shorter.
Value-based bidding (testing expected in 2027): Reddit would bid more for people likely to place bigger orders. Shopping and app campaigns are expected first.
Reach and frequency goal (expected in 2027): spread your ad across more people, with a cap on how often one person sees it.

What it means for you: send order values with your pixel and Conversions API now, so your account is ready when value bidding arrives. Setup is in Reddit Pixel & Conversions API: Setup Guide.

What's new in Reddit video and takeover ads?
Video is getting more room on Reddit:
Full-screen vertical video (testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027, wider in 2027): vertical video ads that fill the phone screen, sold in the normal ad auction.
Caption uploads (expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): add a caption file so your video makes sense on mute. Automatic captions are expected later.
Bigger takeovers (expected around late 2026–early 2027): a takeover puts your ad in Reddit's most visible spots for a day, and those spots are expected to get bigger.
Part of a takeover day (testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027, wider in 2027): buy a slice of a takeover day instead of the whole day.

What it means for you: for game trailers and app ads, make a vertical cut with a hook in the first 2 seconds, and add captions. Sizes are in Reddit Video Ad Specs (2026).

What's new in Reddit ad creative tools?
More of the ad-making work is moving into Ads Manager:
Free-form ad generator (in beta, wider launch expected around Q1–Q2 2027): AI drafts ads that read like Reddit posts, using your website and related Reddit threads.
Countdown and quiz ads you build yourself (testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027, wider in 2027): interactive ads in Ads Manager, without a sales rep. Reminder ads, which let people set a reminder for your launch, are already live.
Labels for AI-made ads (expected around Q4 2026 through 2027): more ways to show when an ad was made with AI.

What it means for you: treat AI drafts as a first version. In our app install data, AI-made memes got a 0.73% click-through rate, against 1.14% for real photos. More in Reddit Free-Form Ad Generator and Why AI-Generated Creative on Reddit Flops.
Read more: Reddit interactive ads and Reminder Ads.
What's changing for brands on Reddit?
What redditors say about your brand is becoming easier to see:
Verified business profiles (public beta, wider rollout expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): prove your business is real with official documents and get a checkmark on your profile, posts and ads.
AI product summaries (US test now, more expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): product pages that sum up what redditors say about a product, with quotes from real threads. Brand profiles are also getting a products tab with prices and a buy link.
Filters for ad comments (expected around Q4 2026 through 2027): Reddit would filter spam and abuse out of the comments on your ads.

What it means for you: set up your brand profile before you advertise, keep comments on and answer real questions fast. Filters catch spam, not honest criticism, which still needs a real reply. See How to Set Up a Reddit Brand Profile Before You Advertise and How to Handle Negative Comments on Reddit Ads.

What's new in Reddit Ads Manager?
Ads Manager is getting more planning and AI help:
Campaign planner (rolling out, new features expected in 2027): estimates reach, impressions and cost before you launch, then turns the plan into a draft campaign.
Optimization score (live): every campaign gets a score out of 100, with suggested fixes. Reddit says advertisers who scored 80 or higher paid 19.6% less per conversion.
Reddit Insights (limited access, more expected late 2026 through 2027): shows what people say about brands and topics, with short summaries and links to the threads.
Copy and drafts (expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): copy a winning ad into other ad groups, and save an unfinished campaign to finish later.
AI assistant and MCP connector (assistant testing expected around Q1–Q2 2027, MCP later in 2027): ask questions about your account in plain words, or connect your own AI tools to your Reddit ads data.

What it means for you: the score is a checklist, not a goal. Some suggestions just spend more money, so check each one before you apply it.

What's new in Reddit Business Manager?
Managing access, leads and budgets is getting simpler:
Pixel sharing (live): several ad accounts in one Reddit business can share one pixel.
Agency access without logins (pixel sharing live, catalog sharing expected around Q1–Q2 2027): a business can let its agency use its pixel and Conversions API, and still own them.
Lead gen tools (live and in beta, more expected in 2027): Reddit leads can flow into your CRM, starting with a HubSpot connection in beta.
Business Hub (invite-only test expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027, wider in 2027): paid and organic results in one view.
Account spend caps (expected around Q4 2026 through Q2 2027): one hard spending limit for the whole ad account.

What it means for you: if you work with an agency, share access through Business Manager, not passwords. You keep ownership and can remove access any time.
What's new in Reddit measurement?
This is the part we care about most. Reddit is building ways to count the sales its dashboard misses:
Omnichannel conversions (live): count sales in your app and in physical stores, not just on your website, sent through the Conversions API.
App attribution (in beta, more expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): dual attribution already shows Reddit's numbers next to your app tracking tool's (MMP's) numbers. Next, Reddit is expected to send those tools data on people who watched or tapped your ads, not just clicked.
Split testing (live): test two versions on separate groups. Brand Lift in more countries and longer tracking windows are expected around Q4 2026 through 2027.
Conversion Lift head-to-head (testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): compare two strategies, like new people vs past visitors, to see which sales the ads really caused.
Search Lift (early testing expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): checks whether people who saw your Reddit ads later find you through Google or AI assistants.
Attribution partners (testing now, more expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): Reddit is sharing ad views, not just clicks, with attribution tools. Dreamdata is one announced partner.
Marketing mix model data (early access only): cleaner Reddit data for marketing mix models.
Brand safety checks with Zefr (rollout expected around Q4 2026–Q2 2027): an outside company checks whether the content near your ads is safe for your brand.

What it means for you: people often see a Reddit ad and buy days later through Google, so the dashboard shows less than Reddit really drives. Search Lift and lift studies are built to measure that gap. Until they're live, track your brand searches yourself, as shown in Brand Search Lift: The Reddit Ads Effect Nobody Measures and Reddit Ads Attribution Gap.

Which Reddit ads changes matter most for your brand?
In our experience, these are the ones to watch:
DTC and Shopify brands: Collection Ads, sale badges, value-based bidding and omnichannel conversions.
Game studios: 15-second video views, full-screen vertical video, part of a takeover day for launches, and countdown ads.
Mobile apps: app attribution with your MMP, Max carousels and omnichannel conversions.
B2B and lead gen: in-market business audiences, the HubSpot connection and the new lead gen tools.
Everyone: verified profiles, the optimization score and Search Lift.
What should you do now?
Use what's live: asset groups in Max, the optimization score and pixel sharing.
Set up the Conversions API and send order values, so new bidding and measurement tools can use your data.
Test one new feature at a time, next to a campaign you already trust.
Don't plan budgets around roadmap dates. They're estimates and can move.
We'll update this Reddit ads roadmap as features go live, and the biggest changes will get their own posts, linked from here.
Reddit ads roadmap: FAQ
What's new in Reddit ads in 2026?
Max campaigns opened to all advertisers, with asset groups. Collection Ads went live, 15-second video views entered public beta, and the campaign planner and optimization score rolled out.
Will Reddit show ads in search?
Reddit's leaders said in July 2026 that they're starting to look at ads in Reddit search. Early tests are expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027, but nothing is announced yet.
Should I use Reddit Max campaigns?
Test them. Reddit reports lower costs with Max, but in our own test, raising a Max budget fast hurt revenue first. Run Max next to a manual campaign and judge it on sales.
Are Reddit roadmap dates final?
No. Roadmap dates are estimates and often move. Plan around what's live, and treat the rest as a preview.
