Reddit Ads Certification: Is It Worth It and How to Get It (2026)

Reddit ads certification is free. You take it on Reddit Ads Formula, Reddit's online learning hub, and courses end with a test. Most take one to three hours. It's worth doing if you run Reddit ads yourself, because it explains how Reddit's ads work. It won't teach you what works in a real account. Here's what's in it and how to get it.

What is Reddit ads certification?

Reddit runs its courses and certifications on Reddit Ads Formula, a free learning hub for advertisers. Over the years it has added these programs:

  • Fundamentals: Reddit's core course for new advertisers.

  • Boost 2.0: six modules on measurement, the ad auction, optimization, creative, finding communities and testing, adding up to three hours of content.

  • Reddit Ads Creatives: about one hour on ad creative, ending with a digital badge.

  • SMB micro-certification: a self-paced course for small business advertisers, added in 2024.

Course names change, so check the hub for the current list.

How do you get Reddit ads certified?

  1. Go to Reddit Ads Formula and sign in or create an account.

  2. Pick a course. Start with the fundamentals if you're new.

  3. Go through the lessons and pass the test at the end.

  4. Save or share your certificate or badge.

Is Reddit ads certification worth it?

For people running their own ads, yes. It's free, it's short, and it explains how Reddit sees its own platform: the auction, objectives and creative rules. Take it while you run a small test campaign, so the lessons stick.

It has limits. A certificate shows someone finished Reddit's courses. It doesn't show they can get results, reply to comments well, or read results when Reddit's dashboard misses sales. When you hire, ask for case studies with real numbers. See 12 questions to ask a Reddit ads agency.

What a Reddit ads certification shows and what it doesn't: it shows finished courses and knowledge of the auction, objectives and creative rules, but not results, good comment replies or reading results when the dashboard misses sales

What about Reddit certified agency partners?

Agencies can earn partner badges too. In 2024 Reddit started a partner badging program where agencies earn badges based on their Reddit Ads Formula certifications. Gold-level partners are featured on Reddit's business website. Undecided Agency is a Reddit certified agency partner.

Reddit ads certification: FAQ

Is Reddit ads certification free?

Yes. Reddit's courses and certifications on Reddit Ads Formula are free.

How long does Reddit ads certification take?

Most courses take one to three hours. Reddit's creative course takes about an hour, and its Boost 2.0 program adds up to three hours.
