Reddit Omnichannel Attribution: Count App and In-Store Sales, Not Just Web

Reddit omnichannel attribution shows whether a sale from your ads happened on your website, in your app, in a store or somewhere else. You get conversions by source, plus cost per action and return on ad spend across all of them. It's live now and works through the Conversions API. Here's how to set it up.
This post is part of our Reddit ads roadmap. Dates are estimates and can shift.
What does Reddit omnichannel attribution count?
Website: purchases and sign-ups on your site, including Reddit Pixel events.
App: actions inside your app, like a purchase in a mobile game.
Offline: sales in a physical store.
Other: conversions that happen somewhere else.

How do you set it up?
Send events through the Reddit Conversions API, either directly or through Google Tag Manager.
Add the action source to each event: website, app, offline or other. In Google Tag Manager, it's website unless you change it.
For store sales, match customers with hashed emails and phone numbers, not device IDs or click IDs.
In Ads Manager, customize your report columns to split conversions by source.
What are the limits?
Only direct and Google Tag Manager setups work. File uploads and partner integrations aren't supported.
The source doesn't change optimization. Reddit still optimizes on the event across all sources.
Pixel events only deduplicate against Conversions API website events, so send each event once, with the right source.
Who should use it?
Brands that sell in more than one place: shops with retail stores, apps with a website, or games on several platforms. If most of your sales happen off your website, Reddit can look weaker in reports than it really is. In one of our app campaigns, Reddit reported 32 installs when the real number was 222. Counting every channel gives a fairer picture. More in Reddit Ads Attribution Gap.
