Reddit offers ad credit when you create a new ads account through its offer page. You pick a credit program, spend the required amount within 30 days, and get matching credit. For example, spend $500 and get $500 in ad credit. You can't switch programs afterwards, and no Reddit rep can extend the 30 days. Last checked: October 2026.

How does Reddit's ad credit offer work?

  1. Create your ads account through Reddit's ad credit offer page, not by signing up another way.

  2. Choose the credit program you want when you register.

  3. Spend the required amount within 30 days of creating the account.

  4. Get the matching ad credit. For example, $500 spent gets $500 in credit.

Your billing page also shows how much you need to spend to unlock your ad credit, so check it once your billing is set up. We get nothing from Reddit for sharing this link.

How Reddit's ad credit offer works

What are the rules of the 30-day window?

  • The clock starts when you create the account. You have 30 days to spend the required amount.

  • You can't switch programs. If you chose the $500 program, you can't move to the $1,500 one later.

  • Nobody can extend it. After 30 days, no Reddit rep can extend the offer (we tried).

The 3 rules of the 30-day window

How should you plan your spend around the credit?

Work out your daily budget first. Spreading $500 over 30 days is about $16.67 a day. Spreading $1,500 over 30 days is $50 a day. Reddit's minimum is $5 per day for each ad group, so $16.67 a day covers about three ad groups at the minimum. More in Reddit Ads limitations.

Then plan the test, not just the spend:

  • Start with 4 to 6 ads in a single ad group, and pause the weakest after 7 to 14 days.

  • Keep the best 2 or 3 as your core performers, and test new ideas in separate ad groups.

  • Use community targeting and feed placement for cold audiences. See our step-by-step guide to advertising a Steam game on Reddit.

What the credit window means per day

Is it worth chasing the ad credit?

Yes, as a discount on spend you were going to do anyway. Three rules from our experience:

  • Don't spend more than you planned just to unlock the credit.

  • Don't launch half-ready to hit the window. Tracking, creative and targeting come first. See how to track Reddit ads without the pixel.

  • Pick the program whose budget you can spend well in 30 days, not the biggest one.

What does Reddit advertising cost beyond the credit?

Credit only covers your first spend. For typical CPC, CPM and real cost per customer, see How much do Reddit ads cost?.

How long do you have to spend the required amount?

30 days from creating the account. After that, no Reddit rep can extend it.

No. You choose your program when you register, and you can't change it afterwards.

How much should you spend per day to use the credit?

No. We don't get anything from Reddit for sharing it.
