Reddit Ads Management Tools: Scheduling, Automation & Reporting (2026)

The main tools for managing Reddit ads are Reddit Ads Manager (building campaigns, scheduling, bulk edits, audiences, event checks, reports and split tests), tracking tools (the Reddit Pixel, Conversions API, Google Tag Manager and, for apps, a mobile measurement partner), and reporting tools or the Reddit Ads API that pull your data out. Most advertisers only need Ads Manager, tracking, and a spreadsheet that puts Reddit next to their own sales numbers. Add the rest as your account grows.
What can you do inside Reddit Ads Manager?
Reddit Ads Manager (ads.reddit.com) is where everything starts. Its menu has seven tools you'll use. Names can change, so check what your own account shows.
Tool | What it does | When you need it |
|---|---|---|
Dashboard | Spend, results and status for campaigns, ad groups and ads | Daily check-ins |
Create Campaign | Builds a campaign, ad groups and ads step by step | Launches and new tests |
Bulk Import | Creates or edits many campaigns, ad groups and ads from a spreadsheet | Lots of creatives or ad groups |
Events Manager | Shows the conversion events your pixel and Conversions API send | After you set up tracking |
Audience Manager | Builds custom audiences: website visitors, customer lists, lookalikes and Reddit engagement | Retargeting and exclusions |
Report Manager | Builds reports and exports them as CSV files | Weekly reporting |
Experiments | Runs split tests | Larger budgets |

Can you schedule Reddit ads?
Yes. You can set start and end dates for campaigns and ad groups, and choose which days your ads show. Scheduling is most useful in three cases:
Launches: set the start date so everything goes live together, with ads already approved.
Promotions: set an end date so a sale ad stops when the sale does.
Testing: run a test for a fixed window, like the 7 to 14 days we use for a creative test.
Treat schedule changes like any other big change: make one or two significant changes a month, not small tweaks every few days. In one of our accounts, profit dropped about 4x for 3 to 4 days after each big change, because it triggered the learning phase. If an ad group isn't spending as planned, check Reddit ads not delivering.
How can you automate Reddit ads?
Max campaigns: Reddit manages budget, bids and creative combinations for you. See Reddit Max campaigns in 2026. In our Reddit Max scaling case study, pushing Max to 2.2x its budget cut one ecommerce brand's revenue per day by 29%, so scale it in steps.
Dynamic Product Ads: ads build themselves from your product catalog. See Reddit Dynamic Product Ads and Shopify.
Creative drafting: Reddit's free-form ad generator drafts a post-style ad, and Redditor Highlights adds real Redditor posts to your ads.
Automated targeting: Reddit's audience suggestions can expand your targeting on their own. In standard campaigns, we turn this off and use community targeting. See our Reddit ads for beginners.
Our rule: let automation work on top of an account you've already tested, not instead of testing. For your own rules, like pausing an ad when its cost per result rises, you'd use the Reddit Ads API or a third-party ad platform.
When is Bulk Import worth using?
Bulk Import lets you create or edit many campaigns, ad groups and ads from a spreadsheet instead of clicking through each one. It pays off when you:
Launch many creative variants at once, for example 2 creatives x 2 headlines in several ad groups.
Keep ad names consistent. We name ads with the headline plus a creative name, so reports stay readable.
Copy a proven setup into new audiences or a new account.
If you only run a few ads, building them in Ads Manager is faster.
What is Reddit's split testing tool, and who can use it?
Reddit rolled out a self-serve split testing tool in Ads Manager in 2026. According to coverage from MediaPost and Daily Research News Online:
You open Experiments, pick a pre-built test template and choose your control campaign or ad group. Reddit creates the treatment version.
Reddit splits the audience at the user level, so the two versions don't overlap.
You change one variable, such as the creative, copy or targeting.
Tests run for 2 to 6 weeks, and Reddit declares a winner at 65% confidence.
You need a supported objective and a minimum spend of $1,000 a day.
Reddit reported that 4 out of 5 beta tests found a winner on return on ad spend.
Two things to keep in mind. First, the $1,000-a-day minimum rules it out for most small accounts. Second, 65% confidence is a lower bar than many marketers use, so in our view a result is a strong hint, not proof. If your budget is smaller, test manually: start with 4 to 6 ads in one ad group, pause the weakest after 7 to 14 days, and run any other test in a separate ad group. More in Reddit campaign structure.
Which tools do you need for Reddit ad tracking?
Reddit Pixel: a code snippet on your website that tracks visits, add to carts, forms and purchases.
Reddit Pixel Helper: a browser extension that checks your pixel fires.
Events Manager: shows the events Reddit receives, so you can confirm they arrive.
Conversions API: catches conversions the pixel misses. In our experience, a properly set up pixel tracks about half of your traffic. See the Reddit Pixel and Conversions API setup guide.
Google Tag Manager: lets you add the pixel with Reddit's official template, without touching code.
UTM links: tag every ad link with source, medium, campaign and content. Google's free Campaign URL Builder builds them.
A mobile measurement partner: tools like AppsFlyer track app installs. See our app installs case study.
If you send people to a page you can't tag, like a Steam page, see how to track Reddit ads without the pixel and Reddit retargeting without a pixel.

How do you report on Reddit ads?
Use three layers together, because no single one tells the whole story:
Reddit's own numbers. The Dashboard shows results, and Report Manager exports them as CSV files.
A connector into your dashboard. Tools such as Windsor.ai, Coupler.io and Fivetran pull Reddit Ads data through the Reddit Ads API into Google Sheets, Looker Studio or BigQuery, next to your other channels. That removes the manual exporting.
Your own data. Compare Reddit's numbers with Shopify, your CRM or your measurement partner, and check branded search and direct traffic around the days you change campaigns.
Connectors only report what Reddit knows, so they share Reddit's blind spots. In our app installs case study, Reddit reported 32 installs where the measurement partner recorded 222. See the Reddit attribution gap and brand search lift.
A simple weekly routine: pull Reddit's spend and clicks into one sheet → add your real sales or signups for the same days → compare → write down one change to test next.

What is the Reddit Ads API, and who needs it?
The Reddit Ads API is Reddit's official way to manage and report on ads programmatically: ad accounts, campaigns, ad groups, ads, audiences, pixels, conversions and performance reports. It uses OAuth 2.0, and the full reference is in the Reddit Ads API documentation. Access may need approval, so ask your Reddit representative if you're not sure.
You probably need it if you:
Manage several ad accounts and want one reporting view
Want automatic daily data in your own dashboard
Need custom rules or bulk changes that Ads Manager doesn't cover
For most small and mid-size advertisers, Ads Manager plus a connector is enough.
Which free tools help with Reddit targeting and creative?
Our free subreddit finder shows which subreddits your buyers are in, and which ones you can target with ads. It's free and needs no email.
Reddit Pro is Reddit's free tool for businesses. Its Trends section helps you see what people are discussing. See Reddit ads as market research.
A meme site like imgflip shows which formats people currently use, if you're making meme ads.
Reddit's Pixel Helper and Google's Campaign URL Builder are free and worth installing on day one.
Which tools do you need at each stage?
Your stage | What to use |
|---|---|
Just starting | Ads Manager, pixel and Conversions API (or UTM links), the subreddit finder and a spreadsheet |
Testing creative | Everything above, plus a consistent naming system and a weekly review routine |
Scaling | Bulk Import, Max or Dynamic Product Ads, a connector into a dashboard, and Experiments if you spend $1,000 a day or more |
Many accounts | The Reddit Ads API and a data warehouse or BI tool |
What mistakes should you avoid with Reddit ad tools?
Buying reporting software before your tracking works. A dashboard of untracked data is still untracked data.
Trusting Reddit's dashboard alone. Check it against your own sales data.
Making big changes every few days, which can trigger the learning phase again.
Switching on automation before you know what works. See Reddit ads not converting.
Reddit ads tools: FAQ
Can you schedule Reddit ads?
Yes. You can set start and end dates for campaigns and ad groups, and choose which days your ads show.
Can you automate Reddit ads?
Yes. Max campaigns let Reddit manage budget, bids and creative combinations, and Dynamic Product Ads build ads from your catalog. It works best on top of targeting you've already tested.
Does Reddit have a built-in A/B testing tool?
Yes. Split testing in the Experiments section of Ads Manager runs controlled tests for 2 to 6 weeks, but it needs a minimum spend of $1,000 a day. Smaller accounts can test manually with separate ad groups.
What's the best way to track Reddit ads?
The Reddit Pixel plus the Conversions API for websites, UTM links on every ad, and a mobile measurement partner for apps.
Do you need the Reddit Ads API?
Most advertisers don't. It's useful for managing several accounts, automatic reporting and custom automation.
How do you get Reddit ad data into Google Sheets or Looker Studio?
Use a data connector such as Windsor.ai, Coupler.io or Fivetran, which pulls the data through the Reddit Ads API. Remember it only contains what Reddit itself can see.
