Reddit Shopping Ads Explained: Collection Ads, Deal Overlays and Shopping Listings (2026)

Reddit shopping ads are ad formats built to sell products from a catalog, not just send traffic. In 2026 they include Dynamic Product Ads, Collection Ads, automatic deal and community overlays, and Shopping Listing Ads, a multi-brand format Reddit is testing in alpha. All of them work best when your product catalog and the Reddit Pixel are set up first.
What are Reddit shopping ads?
They are the formats Reddit built for ecommerce brands. Instead of one image and a link, they pull products from your catalog and show the right ones to people who are already talking about buying something similar. Reddit's pitch is simple: people come to Reddit to ask what to buy, so shopping ads try to show up inside that moment.
According to eMarketer, Reddit announced its newest shopping tools at Shoptalk in March 2026 as part of its push on Dynamic Product Ads.
Which shopping ad formats does Reddit offer?
Dynamic Product Ads (DPA): Reddit picks products from your catalog and shows each person the ones most likely to interest them. This is the base for everything else.
Collection Ads: a lifestyle hero image plus shoppable product tiles in one carousel, so people can go from an idea to a product in one swipe.
Deal overlays: Reddit adds your discounts to the ad automatically, with no extra setup.
Community overlays: Reddit highlights products that are already popular, for example with a label like "Redditors' Top Pick".
Shopping Listing Ads: Reddit's first multi-advertiser format. Products from several brands appear together in a carousel inside threads where people compare options. The Keyword reported in June 2026 that it is in alpha.

Formats in alpha or beta are not open to every advertiser, and the details can change. Check what you can see in Ads Manager before you plan around one.
What do you need before running Reddit shopping ads?
A product catalog connected to Reddit. Reddit also announced an alpha Shopify integration to make catalog and pixel setup easier.
The Reddit Pixel and the Conversions API, so Reddit can see product views, add-to-carts and purchases.
Product images that look good small. Tiles in a carousel are tiny on a phone.
Clean product titles and prices. Reddit reads them from the catalog, so typos and odd names show up in the ad.

Step-by-step setup is in our guide to Reddit Dynamic Product Ads and Shopify, and tracking is covered in the Reddit Pixel and Conversions API setup guide.
Do Reddit shopping ads work?
Reddit says shopping conversations on the platform grew 40% year over year, and that 84% of users say Reddit makes them more confident about a purchase, as reported by eMarketer. Those are Reddit's own numbers, so treat them as context, not a forecast.
In our experience, catalog ads work best for brands with many products and clear prices. If you sell one hero product, a well-written image or video ad aimed at the right communities often does the same job for less setup.
How should you test shopping ads?
Start with Dynamic Product Ads for people who already visited your site, then add cold audiences.
Keep a normal image or video ad running in the same campaign so you have something to compare against.
Give each test at least 4 days before you judge it, and judge it on purchases and cost per purchase, not clicks.
Keep comments on. Product questions in the comments tell you what the product page is missing.

What's next for Reddit shopping ads?
Reddit is adding to its shopping ads fast. From our Reddit ads roadmap:
Sale badges (in testing, wider timing not announced): Reddit adds a discount badge to products that are on sale in your catalog.
Shopping Listing Ads (in testing, wider rollout expected in 2027): products from different brands, matched to the thread someone is reading.
Sharper product sets (live, more coming around Q4 2026 through 2027): filters that choose which products each campaign shows, with one shopping campaign across several countries expected next.
Ads in Reddit search (early tests expected around Q4 2026–Q1 2027): Reddit has said it's starting to look at ads in its own search, where people often look right before they buy.

Dates are estimates and can shift. Keep your catalog clean now, because most of these features read straight from it.
Reddit shopping ads: FAQ
Are Reddit shopping ads available to all advertisers?
Dynamic Product Ads are. Some newer formats, like Shopping Listing Ads, were in alpha in 2026, so not every account can use them yet.
Do I need Shopify to run Reddit shopping ads?
No. You need a product catalog connected to Reddit. Shopify has its own integration, but other platforms can upload a catalog too.
What is a Collection Ad on Reddit?
A carousel that combines one lifestyle image with shoppable product tiles, so people can browse several products from one ad.
